1. QUIET YOUR MIND
The time before you go to bed really impacts the quality of your sleep. Some of my personal favorite methods are putting my phone on “night mode” which means that at 9 pm, my phone switches over to gray scale and the brightness is dimmed (a blue light filter is a great option as well). I’ve found this encourages me to use my phone less before bed because my phone becomes significantly less stimulating from all of the bright colors.
I also love doing a body scan meditation to refocus on my breath and the relaxation of my physical body.

2. Work Hard During the Day
Getting in a good workout during the day is going to help your body feel tired when it is time for bed, and lead to a more restful sleep. Research from John’s Hopkins has shown that exercise decreases sleep complaints and aerobic exercise appears to impact the body with similar results as taking a sleep pill (Hopkinsmedicine.org).
Check out this Yoga Based Workout that’s sure to leave you a little sweaty and ready for a restful sleep. I’d recommend doing this workout ideally 3 or more hours before you go to sleep.
3. Create an environment for a restful sleep
For me that’s done with blinds that block out unwanted light, a nice cool room to sleep in, and a pillow that won’t have me tossing and turning every 10 minutes. Luckily my Sleep and Glow pillow is up for the job.
I’ve been using this pillow for a few months now, and honestly during this time, I’ve had some of the best sleep in my life. I never realised how often I used to wake up with a squished face with cramps or stiffness in my neck & shoulders. It wasn’t until I stopped waking up with that discomfort that I realised how much it was impacting the quality of my sleep. Now I’m able to find a comfortable position and sleep soundly through the night.
Plus a nice added bonus is this pillow will last for five years!
