3 Smoothie Bowl Recipes

By Brooke Bonfadini
Picture
Smoothie bowls have recently become a popular super-food filled snack, dessert, and/or breakfast food. These creative sensations are an excellent way to get a hearty serving of fruits and veggies in one delicious bowl. I have enjoyed experimenting with making my own smoothie bowls at home for quite some time, and now I am sharing three of my favorite recipes! Each recipe is packed with nutrients, so you won’t feel guilty for eating these delicious treats!

2. Berry Medley

Picture
  • ¼ cup frozen blueberries*
  • ¼ cup frozen strawberries
  • ¼ cup frozen blackberries
  • ¼ cup frozen raspberries
  • 1 cup spinach
  • ½ cup almond milk
  • ½ cup vanilla greek yogurt
    Toppings:
  • Blueberries
  • Granola
*Note: most stores sell an already frozen berry medley that contains these berries

3. Green Goodness

Picture
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 cup kale
  • 2 frozen bananas (set aside half of one for topping)
  • ½ cup cashew (or almond) milk
  • ¾ cup vanilla greek yogurt
    Toppings:
  • Banana slices
  • Flax seeds
The portions of each of the ingredients are not strict, and you can modify the amounts depending on how much smoothie you want to make or which flavors you want to emphasize. For best results with each smoothie, add liquids slowly to ensure your smoothie doesn’t become too liquified (the water content in each fruit will differ so the quantity of liquid might not always be the same). Be sure all ingredients are fully blended. Enjoy!
