Podcasts are the new fad and if you haven’t started listening to some, you definitely should. Comedy podcasts are my go-to and I thought I would share a few of my favorites if you are looking for some new binge-worthy material.
My Favorite Murder
Murder and comedy, what could be better? It sounds like an uncomfortable combination of themes but Karen and Georgia do a fantastic job with it. These ladies talk about true crime while cracking jokes, so a unique sense of humor is definitely recommended for this podcast. They are also very open about mental health and discuss the hardships that come along with having anxiety and depression. Karen and Georgia have done a great job creating a community where people can feel comfortable about their true crime obsession and connect with other people about mental well-being. Their episodes come out every Monday and Thursday and they have almost 300 that you can start binging!
This Podcast Will Kill You
You’ll need a strong stomach for this one. Erin and Erin are epidemiologists that discuss the history, biology, and current status of different diseases. Their fascination with bacteria and viruses is comical and they break everything down to make their podcast an easy listen. They also have a cocktail recipe for every episode! Episodes are released on Tuesdays, sometimes every week and sometimes every other week.
And That’s Why We Drink
Here's another true crime podcast, but this one includes paranormal stories! Em and Christine share their reasons for drinking milkshakes and wine (respectively) by telling true crime and ghost stories. My preferences clearly show that I love true crime, and I also enjoy a good paranormal story every now and then. These gals do both while also throwing some comedy into it.
The Dollop
I saved the best for last. This podcast is the epitome of interesting humor, so buckle in. Dave Anthony and Gareth Reynolds are comedians that take a snippet of history and make fun of it in a uniquely hilarious way. It took me a few episodes to get into it, but I kept an open mind and I listen every day while trying not to burst out laughing at the office. There are almost 400 episodes of the Dollop out, so there is plenty of content to binge!
These podcasts are a great place to start if you like to laugh, but I’m always looking for more suggestions! Share your favorite comedy podcasts on your Instagram story and tag me @afterrsummer so I can give them a listen!
